AIYIMA A80 High-Fidelity DAC & Headphone Amplifier User Survey
Dear Audiophiles,
AIYIMA plans to develop a pure DAC & headphone amplifier version based on the A80 architecture.
In addition to keeping the A80’s signature VU meter display and full input options, we are considering adding a “high-fidelity Bluetooth TX” function.
Your feedback will directly influence the final product’s features and design choices.

Part 1: User Profile & Desktop Setup
2. What is your main desktop listening scenario?
Ultimate Audio
Immersive Entertainment/Gaming
Efficient Work/Creation
Analog/Retro
3. Which devices are part of your current desktop setup?
Sensitive in-ear monitors (IEM)
Wired over-ear headphones (e.g., HD600/DT880)
Wireless/Bluetooth headphones or noise-canceling headphones (e.g., Sony WH-1000XM5)
Active studio monitors
Standalone USB/XLR microphone
4. What are your main audio sources?
PC/Laptop (USB)
TV/Game console (Optical/Coaxial/HDMI)
Analog sources (Vinyl/CD via RCA/TRS input)
Mobile phone Bluetooth streaming
Part 2: Bluetooth TX Feature
5. Do you need to wirelessly transmit audio to Bluetooth headphones from your desktop DAC/amp?
Frequently needed (e.g., late-night viewing or gaming without cables)
Occasionally needed (e.g., moving around while listening)
Not needed (only care about wired, ultimate audio quality)
6. If you use Bluetooth TX, which aspects matter most?
Latency performance (aptX Low Latency/Adaptive)
Audio quality (aptX Lossless / LDAC)
Connection convenience (device name shown on screen)
Multi-connection support (transmit to two headphones simultaneously)
7. If we connect the A80 to your vinyl or CD player and wirelessly transmit the analog audio to your Bluetooth speaker, how appealing is this feature to you?
Very appealing
Neutral
Not useful
Part 3: Hardware & Audio Performance
8. Which output interfaces do you consider essential for the A80 headphone amplifier version?
6.35mm Single-ended output
4.4mm Balanced output
XLR Balanced pre-out (for monitor speakers)
RCA Pre-out
9. What is your tolerance for the amplifier’s noise floor?
Very high: absolute silence for IEMs, no hiss at all.
Normal: acceptable as long as there’s no noticeable noise when driving large headphones.
Low concern: not sensitive to noise floor.
10. Which upgrade would most motivate you to buy?
Core DAC chip upgrade (e.g., ES9038Q2M → ES9039Q2M)
Significant power increase (supports 2000mW output, easily drives high-impedance headphones)
More digital filter and tone adjustment options
Part 4: Interaction & Display Logic
11. Which info would you most like to see on the color screen?
Dynamic VU meter / Spectrum (retro aesthetic)
Bluetooth pairing list and status
Current audio sample rate / file format (DSD512/PCM 768k)
Independent output mode display (Headphone / Pre-out / Bluetooth TX)
12. Do you need the “Output Mode Volume Memory” feature?
Absolutely needed: remembers previous volume when switching outputs, preventing sudden spikes or damage.
Not needed: I prefer manual volume control.
Keep volume synchronized across outputs.
13. Which Bluetooth TX pairing method do you prefer?
Auto-connect: The device automatically searches for and connects to the most recently paired headphones
Manual confirmation: Confirm the connection via on-screen list (prevents connecting to other devices in the room)
14. Considering desktop space, what size is most suitable for H80?
Keep the current A80 size, compact and aesthetically pleasing.
Slightly bigger is acceptable (e.g., for more ports or heat dissipation).
Smaller is better, even if some ports are sacrificed.
15. For “l(fā)ate-night entertainment” scenarios, would you like the H80 to connect to two Bluetooth headphones simultaneously (dual-user mode)?
Essential: Often watch movies or play games with a partner
Occasional: Use it when friends come over
Not necessary: I usually listen alone
Part 5: Purchase Intent
16. If this product (with ES9039Q2M high-performance balanced headphone amp bidirectional Bluetooth TX VU meter color display) is priced in the following ranges, what would be your purchase intention?
$150: Extremely competitive, would buy at first release
$180–200: Reasonable value, would consider purchasing
Above $200: Would wait for reviews before deciding
17. If there are two products on the market, which would you choose?
Product A: Ultimate Hi-Fi (-122dB THD N), no microphone, simple Bluetooth TX ($199)
Product B: All-in-one flagship (slightly lower decoding quality), with professional mic input, LE Audio protocol, dual sharing, complex screen UI ($229)
18. What are your expectations or suggestions for the A80 headphone amp version?
